Is there any interest here for old boxcars seen in the 1980's? If not I won't waste the bandwidth. Here is a 60 footer I spied up a Walong in September of 1980; note the chalk Herby under the big P... I ask about the boxcar interest only because the freight section seems to be an afterthought. I know most railfans only like engines...mostly at least, so I'd rather spend time doing what folks like.

By all means John, please post your freight car photos. We have fans, and modelers here. I myself use the freight car pics for modeling. The thing is, we need more participation in the boards. Most "members" have never posted, nor have returned to the forum after joining. Some not in a year now. Its just us regulars.

Here is something that you can still see, but not this clean usually. Even with all the damage, the cars lettering is very easy to make out; Athearn got it close this time.Taken at the top end of Taylor "A" yard, in May of 1980.

This auto parts car had just come into Taylor Yard via the BSMFF, the end door really caught me by surprise in 1980; I had not seen that before on cars built in the 1960's, leave it to SP to have every sort of box car ever conceived.Taken May 12, 1980.
