Nice to see so many good SP layouts. Mine is NWP but with SP on NWP lines and vis versa. Of course it is freelance since I model modern time. SP Heritage paint scheme, I told you it is freelance.

Jim Pattison,
Nice layout. Don't forget, depending on the time period of your layout and the fact you are modeling the Coast Line to LA as well as to San Jose, you can run your Beet Train south (eastbound) towards Guadalupe as there were sugar refineries in Santa Maria and in the Ventura areas. I have a "beet train" that is made up of the GS gondolas prior to the adding of the extensions. It now totals just under 20 cars, mainly kits from Red Caboose.

Jim Scott, Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. My time period is mid-50's, or slightly later (I have a '57 Tbird on a road someplace) However, I intend to run a late 55-early 56 Starlight consist if Athearn or BLI ever actually produce the cars they say they will.

My back injury has slowed me down lately, but I did manage to get my backdrop painted for the Pinole section of my layout. I have also been working on the upper ATSF Mainline.

The railroad in the basement is Espee in the 1970-80 time frame. The railroad is 16 inches deep around all four walls of a room 13 feet square. Scale is HO. I would add photos but don't know how to do it.

I'm looking forward to the N Scale release by Kato of the GS-4 and correct passenger cars, and Intermountains Cab-Forward. These are going to be welcome additions!
