Near wash out at Mojave. Chrome SD40T-2 8286, backs her lash up over Oak Creek road, and to her waiting train. Mojave Yard. Temp was over 100 if I recall right.

Heading Down the PC Cutoff Southern Pacific SD45 #7489 leads an eastbound mixed freight down from Hiland on the Palmdale Colton Cutoff in Cajon Pass in 1990.

Gary: To me it looks like an EMD Demo or Leaser SD70M. Saw one here in Kentucky one day over at the Ford Truck Plant. Ed The second unit on 9811's photo looks like a SOO Lines unit.

My National Guard unit was on its way to Camp Roberts for Summer camp back in June 1986. My Platoon Sergeant was driving our jeep and I was riding shotgun. So no side curtains in the open jeep and it was hot! We paced this freight for a bit before crossing over the road. I was able to squeeze off this pan shot of this brightly colored SD40. Ed

That's a great photo Scott. It's good to see that the Southern Pacific paint scheme is still being seen on the old Southern Pacific system.
