Does anyone have information regarding train operation on the Exeter and Visalia branches during the 80's? I'm interested in finding out what locals operated these branches, what yard they were called out of, what days and times, the industries they served, etc. I know the Visalia Electric was operated as needed to pick up oranges, but any info about the others would be appreciated. Was there any interchange with the AT&SF at Visalia or elsewhere? Thanks in advance for anything you can share.

I think SLOCONDR may know. I know he worked for the Southern Pacific in the locomotives.

There was an issue of the MR yearly publication that had the entire Visalia branch in it. Here's another source:
The Visalia Electric Railroad - Signature Press Primarily serving the growing areas east of Exeter, branches extended eastward toward ... diesels provided service, from GE 44-tonners to handed-down SP Alco and EMD switchers. ... ISBN: 1-930013-15-9 Publication date: October 15, 2004 ...
