 "1961 Railcar Lineup, SP 10, Budd RDC car operating as NWP Train 4, ready to start its tri-weekly run from Willits to Eureka on September 30, 1961. I thought this RDC was wrecked before it went to the NWP.

It was. If you look closely,you will notice that the other end has no cab or vestibule.This car was rebuilt after a collision with a truck.I don't know whether this happened on the SP or the NWP.
