In the late 80's, I decided to revisit black & while film. Kodak had their new T-Max and it looked interesting. I shot a few rolls and had Kodak develop them since my darkroom had long ago been dismantled. We took a short trip to the Cascade Line on 04.15.89 and didn't see much activity except for a light helper set returning from Cascade Summit. I didn't pay that much attention to the consist until the third unit - it was an unrebuilt SD45. So was my catch of the day! (Cheap thrills!) It was a nice combination: SD40T-2/SD45T-2R/SD45/SD45R. Regards, John

I miss seeing them on the Saugas line (Palmdale Jct. to Sylmar). Heavy trains like the loaded oil cans and the JRCIP regularly featured helpers.
