Hi gang, as 99% of Espee pictures are depicting rolling stocks or motive power .... What about a change? No scenery , depots , background buildings surrounding your favorite subject? Here my favorite depot: Menlo Park, CA This building constructed in 1867 by the San Francisco and San Jose Railroad company, is the oldest railroad passenger station in California. The Victorian ornamentation was added in the 1890’s when the station was remodeled to serve the newly opened Stanford University. The extension on the northwest was added to accommodate increased traffic generated by the establishment of Camp Fremont nearby during World War I. The station is the current home of the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce. This information is taken from the California Historic Landmark sign nearby. Two of my pages on this subject: xoomer.alice.it/enzo_fortuna/MenloPark.htmlenzo-fortuna.iitalia.com/Menlo-Park_pictures/Menlo_Pic-index.htmlenzo-fortuna.iitalia.com/Menlo-Park_drawings/index.html

Just stopped by to visit the old SP Whittier Depot that was saved and moved into their downtown area years back. Wish they would put in that railroad museum that was promised.
