Cool Looks like it was spotted at Davenport and left for a few months... I've got one with yellow lettering, paint patches, black reporting marks and plenty of cement and rust. Got three cement cars finished, seeing yours makes me want to work on the other 30

It was like there were two batches, one went towards West Colton and the others went towards the valley line, from Mojave. The ones that went "north" were rusty, and the ones that went to WC or LA were dusty but hardly any rust. I assume this Davenport place you mentioned was along the coast someplace? Or did you mean Iowa, the center of the universe?

Santa Cruz branch. Cement plant about the same size, if not bigger, than Monolith. The Mojave cars, the ones that went "north" were probably going to the processing plant at Polk. Possibly Davenport as well

[glow=red,2,500] I did not know what to bring to the WPM show this past weekend; it seems the older equipment is lost on many of the youngsters. I was hoping these big loco's would be well received; at least they got a lot of looks by the passing crowd.
You will note that the numbers of the loco's are on both sides of the 1965 number change, that sort of puts my period right around Thanksgiving of 1965. I need to weather the U50 and C-30-5, I just need to get the courage; the DD35 came out okay, I just am hesitant.[/glow] Photo by Robert Forsstrom © 2008 PBase links are awful unstable all of a sudden, had to move the pics elsewhere.

Missed a good show... too much "weekend" things this month and with the railroads "availability policy," I could not take the extra weekend day off

[glow=red,2,300]I'm sorry you could not be there also, I was hoping to run into you, or somebody from this list; it would have been cool![/glow]
