It was a tough one this time! I voted for Shastafan's shot.sd45x,your photo was slightly out of focus. If that unit had been nice and sharp, your shot would have gotten my vote.

Although the picture is slightly out of focus, I've got to go with espeelover's shot. It's a good action shot showing the hogger snatching the TO's from the hoop. Where was this shot taken and what was the trains symbol??

They are all great looking photos, which makes it difficult to decide who to vote for. I eventually went with Herb's shot of the SD45's, as I think this is a classic SP photo.
Cheers, Simon

Although the picture is slightly out of focus, I've got to go with espeelover's shot. It's a good action shot showing the hogger snatching the TO's from the hoop. Where was this shot taken and what was the trains symbol?? I had been sitting in the cupola of the 'crummy' TO station talking with one of the operators, when I saw that train come into view. I went outside to shoot, but did not like the light and decided not to take a picture. That was until I figured out, almost too late that my shutter was at 250 and that the hogger hooping the orders might be pretty neat after all, so it was a very quick aim and shoot deal, IIRC. This was also in the days when Kodachrome slide film was ASA 64; I always had to walk a line between shutter speed and F stop. Plus I used to shoot before I could think a lot of the time, and was too lazy to use a tripod. These new cameras are so much more forgiving. This was at the TO station at Hiland in Cajon Pass. I no longer have any notes from that time period, so have no idea of the symbol; just call it a typical SP ECITY. ;D

Thanks John (and everyone else!). I'm a little embarrassed to say it, but that is one of only two pictures I have of an SP train in Cajon. The other is a going away shot of the same train Let's see. Thom, isn't the first place prize a new Nikon D700? Do you need my mailing address? ;D ;D Regards, John
