            Looking through what would have been the west end of tunnel 3, the daylighted tunnel 6 cut,
can be seen across the valley at the left edge of this photo. Here is a 45T-2 shoving uphill just a few hundred feet short of the same spot as the pic above. Milepost 360, about half a mile west of the Tehachapi depot; the lot accross the street is
right next to the Best Western on what used to be the edge of town. Go check that view now!

This picture taken near Devore (or Dike as SP called it)  Taken December 1979 Pool power in Mojave...SCL! Here is a somwhat decent roster shot of SD40T-2 from the initial order. Taken in Industry Yard, November of 1978. Colton Crossing was cool... City of Industry, always something to see back in 1978. Added 9/3/08

Geeze Louise guys, you're making my hat tight! Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I think if we keep the photos and text coming, perhaps more contributing members will come aboard, which will be good for all of us. Sort of like how the SPH&TS start up notes were written on a Carrow's napkin; but it grew beyond anything the founders ever envisioned. I noticed two or three more voters showing up in the photo contests the last two times; that is a good sign. |
