Hello All, I am a manufacturer of etched brass models that is working on several SP projects. I am currently researching the signal bridge at Walong to reproduce it in multiple scales. If anyone has some detailed photos, or dimensions, of the bridge they wish to share, It would be very appreciated. Without dimensions, I need a detailed photo perpendicular to the bridge with a target in the image to use as a known reference. Of course, any photo that adds some accurate detail is wanted. In advance, Thanks for any help Bob KnightTrainCat Model Sales www.traincat2.comsales@traincat2.com

I will be heading up there in a week or so; I have been told that the UP (a wonderful company which always demonstrates good American values like freedom and fairness for all) has placed concrete ties all over the place, trying to limit railfan access, to one of the greatest historical railroad places of the last two centuries. (anybody know anything about access easements?)
I'm not limber enough to get down there anymore, now that the staircase is gone, so you will have to hope some young anarchist will silently rise to the challenge and take the long way around the hill, or even hobo on a slow uphill drag freight on an open car (not that I would ever condone breaking any laws mind you) and take some close-ups. With the advent of things like Patriot II and Carnivore, freedom lies only between your ears; all else is shadows and dust.I'll look through my slides too, but think this picture is my closest one of the bridge.

The staircase was part of the charm, IMO, of being at the loop.
