Thanks Thom!  I was curious about the front bogie(the one that couples to the locomotives) Does it look like just a rail truck with a coupler attached? Say a MTL #1035... The Deluxe Innovations couplermate just doesn't look right on the front, From all the pics I've seen. |

Thanks very much guys. Scott...ya it looks like in the pic with the SD40's, there is one, or a smaller box. I'd say there is brake equipment in it. I didn't notice that until you mentioned it.

Hi Scott What scale do you model? I have HO & run a Swift train at the Eastbay club ( www.gsmrm.org/index.shtml ) I have a lot of prints (not scaned) of the train & the coupler mates. As far as I know the Bowser ones are a preproduction one (I have never seen a picture of one in use) & sliced & diced mine to be correct. All the times I saw the train on SP or UP it had a 2 coupler mates,BNSF & NS run roadrailers with 1 sometimes Tim Hanesworth |

Great shots of the Swift trailor trains. If I remember right they would travel out of Los Angeles over the Saugas Line and thru Bakersfield.
