My railfan buddies used to always razz me about how often I took pics at the loop, and
had that old dead tree (the fav helper shot above as an example) in the picture
(not to mention my avatar).
I guess it was fate that had he me up at Walong when a crew showed up with chainsaws;
I left for Caliente and did not come back until that afternoon, here is what was left...
Yet one more old familiar friend gone for good. The reason I liked the tree was two fold; I always
liked to tie my pics to a scene when possible, and foreground brush or trees acted like a natural frame.
The other reason was, before there were any signs up on that hill, I would have missed the loop
turnoff, except that old bent tree was my first landmark for Walong; I remembered it from other pics
