[glow=red,2,300]Back when I first started going to Tehachapi (in 76-77) there were BN units running about on a few freights. Here we see one of the R/C Masters at Industry Yard in February of 1978. I looked high and low for this long lost slide, somehow it got seperated and nearly destroyed; taking forever to clean up even this much in Photoshop.
At least now, it can be a record for all of us, on a short lived, but interesting period in SP's long history.[/glow]

I had a pic of an RCU Car (103 I think), but can not find it right now. Somewhere, in the last few years, I downloaded this pic from the web for modeling purposes, but I forgot from where it came.
Here is the one I "borrowed" just for educational or modeling purposes only, photo by Richard Curts.

Back in the late 70s/early 80s,a few friends and I were in Colton Tower visiting the towerman late one night, when we saw an eastbound SP freight. the power was all from other roads. The set was B&0,Chessie System, and two high hood N&W units. We left the tower and chased the train over Beaumont hill. It was really cool! The units were in run 8 and the train was moving about 10-12 MPH.

Ahhh, run 8 and under 15mph, not a GE in the lashup either I'll wager...I am surprised anybody ever loaned power to the SP sometimes; the shop crews fron the visiting railroad probably wondered how the needle on the amp meters kept getting bent... ;D
