This started as a undecorated Con Cor I had kicking around. I'm waiting on the decals. There not cab decals, but truck trailer decals! This will be indeed a one off ;D

That would be something to see at the end of a long freight!

I have found the same thing when using digital cameras. The high clearity shows everything! I have actually 'modeled by camera' before. Done something, took a picture, downloaded, and then study the picture to see what I need to do next! May have made me a better modeler, LOL, or maybe not.

Nice work Thom. Say, is there an antenna missing from the roof?

Thanks Herb. Yep, missing wagon wheel, frog eyes, road number etc I'm stuck now as the detail source ran dry, and I need SP caboose lettering decals. I will probably wind up scratch building the antenna and frog eyes.

With the nice workmanship on the crummies above it got me to thinking about an eastbound train I saw with five crummies on the rear of a train.

heres a scratch built wagon wheel. Used a couple of cut down track spikes and a paper disc from a hole punch.

Thom, I think JnJ Trains still makes those antennas,I looked at them yesterday on their web site. They have a lot of other SP detail parts also. Looks like you got it handled well though! users.dwx.com/~jnjtrains/

Nice looking C-30, I can barely see HO details enough to work on them these days, I can't imagine working in N. You know, there were some late steam era way cars with crimsom ends right?
