I have heard of and been to Sulphur Springs, TEXAS. Is the ETT spelling different than the towns name? Also been to Refinery Siding on the west side of Mount Pleasant, never heard of Refinery Springs.

It is interesting that the railroad would get the Sulphur Springs spelling wrong. I have 1966 and 1972 Cotton Belt ETTs where it is spelled Sulphur Springs. The sign board on the Station was spelled Sulphur Springs when I visited the Blacklands Railroad operation back in April. Who would have thought that the town that Roger S. Plummer, Fred Frailey and now Nathan Bailey called home would have its name spelled wrong by one of the railroads that ran through it. Loss of place name is not progress. I will note that my 1966 ETT shows Sulphur Springs as MP 517.84 while the 1972 ETT shows Sulphur Springs as MP C517.8. The "C" is in reference to the old Cotton Belt designation of the Commerce Subdivision being known as the C Branch.
