Gary: Dr. Jason Davis wrote the review. It was posted to five Yahoo Groups and I just forwarded it to this one.
Dr. Otha Spencer is a retired journalism professor. His wife is the sister of a Cotton Belt railroader. You can google his name and find he has written other books about Commerce, TEXAS and his Army Air Corps service in the CBI Theater in World War 2. I met him briefly at the Symposium and have talked with him by phone and email on things Cotton Belt.

Dr. Jason Davis's webpage is here faculty.tamu-commerce.edu/jdavis/railroad/ Check the Symposium and Commerce links for Cotton Belt content. Harley Davis was a Cotton Belt fireman from 1959-1964 before taking a buyout and becoming a college professor. Dr. Davis, his father Dr. Harley Davis and Dr. James Conrad of Texas A&M University-Commerce sponsored the last Cotton Belt Symposium on April 16th. There is likely to be another next year. Dr. Spencer was one of the presenters at the Symposium and spoke of his research into the Cotton Belt in and around Commerce, TEXAS. Ed Cooper Cotton Belt Rail Historical Society
