Hall of fame manger Sparky Anderson who managed the Cincinnati Reds during the 1970's and the Detroit Tigers in the 1980's has passed away in his Thousand Oaks, California home. Sparky was 76 years old guiding the Reds to World Series titles in 1975 over the Boston Red Sox and 1976 over the New York Yankees, he also won a World Series title for the Detroit Tigers defeating the San Diego Padres in 1984. He was the first manager to win the world series in both the National League and the American League.

Some more information about Sparky's career: he was the Cincinnati Reds manager from 1970 thru 1978 and the Detroit Tigers manager from 1982 thru 1988.
For both teams he won 7 division championships, 4 pennants and 3 world champion ships.
He had suffered a nervous break down in 1989 when the Tigers floundered and took a three week leave of Absence.
He is survived by his wife Carol, sons Lee and Albert, daughter Shirley Englebrecht and nine grandchildren.

Sparky was born George Lee "Sparky" Anderson on February 22, 1934 in Bridgewater, South Dakota; passing November 4, 2010 in Thousand Oaks, California.
