Hello all,
I'm inquiring about a viaduct on the Coast line, just timetable West of SLO, East of Goldtree at approx. MP 248.4 over a creek named Steiner or Stenner. Now, my copy of an SP 1980/82 track chart labels this as Steiner Creek, and I have seen other sources label it the same. But Signor, in Southern Pacific's Coast Line, calls it Stenner Creek or the structure Stenner Viaduct. This concurs with the USGS.
Which is it? Are both correct depending on whom you talk to? Is there a back story on this? I'm inclined to go with the USGS, but would like to hear from others if they are inclined to comment and especially if there is an interesting story behind it.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Just in case anyone is interested, the Stenner viaduct was originally named "Steiner" due to an error on Espee's part, and was perpetuated in their internal documents, such as track charts. In reality, the bridge crosses Stenner Creek.
This is according to Signor, in Southern Pacific's Coast Line.
