The Summer 2007 edition of the Cotton Belt Star arrived here in Kentucky on August 1st. The new Star is now including color photos, kudos to the editorial staff for the use of color. There is a color photo of the UP C630 at the Arkansas Railroad Museum and a footnote at the bottom of the page stating that the ex-Santa Fe RSD-15 Alligator is next up for painting and hopefully to be completed this year. There is an article on the restoration of the Altheimer, AR Depot mail cart and one on the restoration of a Hartley-Teetor Light Inspection Car. My favorite article was the one written by Robert R.McClanahan on how "Getting Fired Was A good Thing". If you get a chance to visit Pine Bluff be sure to look up Mr. Mac the current Treasurer of CBRHS and a retired Cotton Belt Superintendent. The issue concludes with an interesting article on train whistles by Paul Files.
