Hi All! This is my first post here.
I'm trying to model several HO tank cars from the forties but I can't find any photos of SP tank cars with the older serif lettering. I find plenty of photos and models with the newer, modern lettering.
Any one out there have any or at least can direct me to location of some. Much appreciate it.
I may have to use Southern Pacific decals from steam era locos since even decals for this era are scarce. Dimensions of lettering would also help if any one has them.
Thanks,
George

Wow, I suppose this might be a waste of time; I mean the original question is well over a year old. On the other hand, perhaps somebody might like to have an answer to this question.
Unfortunately, I find no 40's tank car pics just popping out on the web. On the plus side, Southern Pacific Freight Cars Vol. 5 has a great tank car section that has a 1960ish cut off. One chapter covers the period between 1928 and 1942. I've seen several nice car versions in the "older" style lettering in this book. Knowing the SP the way I do, I am certain that many older schemes survived from the 20's through the 1940's.
