An eastbound Southern Pacific freight cranks up the dynamics led by SD45T-2 #9166 through the Mormon Rocks on the Palmdale Colton Cutoff at the west end of Canyon in the Summer of 1984.

Awesome shot Thom. Is that a TOFC train? If it had a set of box cars on the head end I would guess it to be the PTLAF.

Awesome shot Thom. Is that a TOFC train? If it had a set of box cars on the head end I would guess it to be the PTLAF. Thanks guys for the comments. Yep, she's a Pig train. There are no boxes near the head end, they look like flat car mounted containers.
