When was the San Joaquin Daylight dieselized?

Somewhere, I read 1953, and www.kls2.com/~karl/rr/sp/sp-sjd-1954.html shows it to be diesel-powered in 1954. But lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/pentrex/fm223.html lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/pentrex/fm224.html lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/pentrex/fm243.html all show her steam-powered in 1956. I've also read explicitly that one could ride a full-dome behind steam in the 1955-56 timeframe.

51/52 were dieselized in 1953,but sometime after that,was steam powered north of Bakersfield.The train was dieselized late in 1956.The San Joaquin Daylight operated domes behind steam for several months in 1956.
