Anyone out there know the function of the large headlight on the trainmasters? Is is red ? Warning light or mars type ? Thanks all.

Ummm - Not really. Mars lights per se are always white. Train Masters never had the small red light that was a feature of most other SP diesels from the GP9 onwards. The SDs that originally had barrel lights were eventually refitted with the big light package too. There may have been a red bulb in the big round Mars light case on Train Masters, but the Mars Light was primarily for flashing a white warning light ahead of the train when it was in motion. As far as I'm aware, the red light (if present) would only have been used if the train went into emergency braking and was stopped on the main line. So if you put a light in there, it's white. Look on Richard Percy's amazing website for all the pics you will need.

Yep, Percy's site is one of my favorites, it's been hard to discern the light package on the units. Thanks for the info, white it is. Now to get to work on the lighting, DCC of course. Well got her done, upper light is a flashing mars light, lower headlights are in yellowglow led's , I used a white for the mars light for effect.
