Lets see your pictures of switchers working in yards, or running yard jobs. SW1500, MP15, NW2 etc. One pic per person and must be taken by you. Thanks to John, espeelover for this topic idea! Have fun!

SP Switching Past Mission Tower Southern Pacific SW1500 #2642 pulls a TOFC drag out of the Cornfield Yards in Los Angeles past Mission Tower to the LATC in 1984.

Thanks Thom. That's from my early railfanning days at the base of the tower. Glad I was there to record some history.

Nice catch! I never thought to shoot over there, but it looks like a great location.

Hi John, Thanks very much! Back in the day, it was like shooting fish in a barrel with all three freight roads and Amtrak within close walking distance of the tower. And getting an invitation up into the tower was not too difficult! Nice catch! I never thought to shoot over there, but it looks like a great location.

Thanks Gary. I can only imagine what it must have been like at this spot in the mid to late 50s. Talk about activity!

We had chased 4449, 844, and 3985 to the CSRRM opening, and were headed back when my buddy John Proffitt asked me if I wanted to see Bayshore; whats there I asked, as this was my first time to the Bay area? Here is what we saw.Taken May of 1981 © 2008 John Huey Photo

Very, very nice John. I remember taking Bayshore photos like yours because I was living over on the coast in those days about 20 minutes away. It's a shame what has become of that area. We had chased 4449, 844, and 3985 to the CSRRM opening, and were headed back when my buddy John Proffitt asked me if I wanted to see Bayshore; whats there I asked, as this was my first time to the Bay area?
