While exploring the Cascade Line with friends in 1986, we came across a group of super elevated bridge ties ready for installation. None of us had ever seen them before, so a picture was required! Regards, John

Heck! I've never knowingly seen them until now, but they answer a curved bridge question I have always pondered.

Same here, John. I guess I always ASSumed the bridge itself was superelevated, and never thought too much about it.

Interesting photo. I've never seen anything like that before.I had never thought abought superelevation on curved bridges before.

Inneresting, very inneresting. Note what appears to be an extra plate under the high side of the tie. As I remember it two inches of superelevation is used for freight lines and as much as four inches of superelevation would be used for passenger lines.
