Gary, I am guessing you are using some sort of SP internal roster for your information? I say this because you have GE down twice for builder of a things SP did in house. I am guessing that GE might be an internal company code for Sacramento GEneral Shops, but am not certain of this. The first TEBU #1600, was built by MK from ex UP U25B #634; SP took one look and said they could do that themselves. They took U25's dit up to Sac as needed to be stripped and rebuilt, #1601 through #1613 are the results of this program.

Gary, Was there anything in you RR paperwork that gave tractive effort estimates on these TEBU's, or anything else they had? I know someplace, a formula exists for determing HP or tractive effort per axle, or something used to determine how to pull a given weight over a specific route. I mean, I have seen those massive printouts that have all the cars in a train, the weight of each car, loaded or empty, whats in the cars, etc.. They just did not add engines until they guessed they had enough HP; or did they? I have a series of about 20+ slides that show a WCLAY start out around the balloon track, then finally stall in run 8; I seem to remember a 45T-2 and a U33C on the point. They should have had 4 SD9's on that train; roughly the same HP, but more traction motors that can run all day at 8-10 mph without giving up. The tunnel motor probably red lined and it looked like the GE was doing all the work at the end; I never found out.
