I spent my teenage adolescence malingering along the Espee between Camarillo and Santa Barbara. Oxnard was my favorite hangout. The Oxnard Switcher worked in the morning, VCY poked it nose in once in a while and the Leesdale Local made its way in in the afternoon. Got to know quite a few of the old SP guys. Although most of my photos are post 9/11/96, I've still got some shots of the Oxnard Switcher, complete with good ol' Espee power "Modern day mixed train?" On the Santa Paula branch, delivering a passenger car to the Fillmore and Western, plus two cars for Weyehauser. Taken Between Montalvo and Saticoy, late '99 or early 2000.

Nice shot, no patch yet, you deserve a karma for that! You going to WPM this year?
BTW, were you visiting the Santa Susana club about a year or two ago?

Not sure about WPM this year but I'll let you know. I will be at the GEHAMS club during the Convention layout tour and the following Sat. I did visit the Santa Susana club, I think it was three years ago. Was on Vacation and helping my In-Laws pack up their house in Simi, got a chance to swing by for a couple of hours. I ran Ken McMahon's Super Chief around the layout. Off to work... I'm going to dig out my slides in the morning

Thanks Gary. My first experiment with night photography... A little over exposed as the number boards are fuzzy... Taken at Oxnard Jan. 2000.
