I thought I would start a new thread of Hauler pictures. This trip happened on 06.26.88 and was rather unique in that all of the power was on the headend. I talked to the engineer in Toledo and he said there was no helper crew available, so it was just him and his conductor/brakeman (in the caboose). He had to throw switches himself after arriving in Toledo. The first picture is the train passing the Albany depot. The conductor will catch the trainorders. The orders usually contained last minute switching instructions for the mill in Toledo. Next is arriving in North Albany after crossing the Willamette River bridge. Arrival in Corvallis and passing through Oregon State University. Wren. Summit. Eddyville. 3 pictures of the train arriving in Toledo. On several occasions I would see the entire Hauler consist coupled together and used in helper service on the Cascade Line, so that would explain the dirty nose on the 7966. John

Great shots! Tunnels and clean locomotives do not mix, for sure! I got stuck in tunnel 8 on Tehachapi once..... We have to take the "DP" off the manifests when we get to Barstow, amazing how fast you go through gloves with all that soot...
