Over at trains.com there is a video of the loaded oil cans heading eastbound (southbound). I think the link is cs.trains.com in the general discussion area. Look for "Southern Pacific Tank Train". It's a nice video.

This train also had some big numbers to go with it. It carried 1,848,600 gallons of oil per loaded train. It weighed 10,608 tons (21,216,000 pounds) usually having 6 units on the point and 6 units of mid train helpers. Dispatchers normally called it the loaded oil cans. They operated between Bakersfield and Carson, California. It was a real treat, IMO, to watch this train roll by.
