I almost put this in the SP Diesel file near the top of the page, but it looks like there is a certain amount of segregation going on here. No, not that awful kind from when I got in trouble. You see I was only 7, and had no clue why a fountain marked with the word colored meant I could not take a drink; I told my folks the water was just as clear as back home. Man did I cause a ruckass, and this was in Philly. Anyway, since SSW has its own little tiny individual cave to post in, whom am I to buck the status quo....again? ;D I have too many SSW models some folks say, but ever since I was a wee tike, I loved their logo's!

I agree that after the 1965 system renumbering there was an effort to create a homogenized look to the motive power. The last yellow handrails were applied in early 1966. After those frills went away the only difference between the Cotton Belt an Espee power was the name on the side of the long hood and the initials on the nose.

Taken in September of 1980. The crummy is SP 1636.

It must be pretty sunny in Texas, judging by SSW 7607's faded condition at Industry, CA in September of 1980.

Personally, I wish SSW units had that cool shield of theirs on the nose. But, I really like this nose treatment much better than the huge SSWTaken in May of 1981.

Another pre SLR shot from my, 'embarassing, but too good to throw away' box of instamatic 126 slides. Industry Yard in 1977.

Heres a awesome poll shot! Was this taken at Industry? It reminds me of some trackage that goes off to some business' behind the yard. Or, is it where the cuttoff joins the old main? It looks familiar for some reason.

Here is SSW 9402 again, in the same place as at the top of this thread, but its the other side! How neat is that? I must have been living right; or I had no life at all. September of 1980 at Colton crossing.
