I had to go with the SD7's at Taylor, that shot reminded me of a happier time for sure.

I picked what I picked because of the rotary beacons. The wig-wag picture is perfectly composed and very well lit; the subjects are very nice also. It's just me, but looking at the post merger lighting changes is just as bad as all the graffiti now a days, or looking at a great work of art that has been defaced. I really had to think about it too; I love wig-wags big time, they remind me of warm afternoons and Carnation ice cream cups, eaten with flat wooden thingys, in our '53 Chevy, while parked along Alameda Street. I love GP9's, especially the later batch, and that profile shot with the lighting intact is real nifty! Low hood GP9's are on my top ten list of HO models wanted....this was a tough vote, as they all had good points in them. Good luck to all! I guess I voted here like I do for Politicians; I picked the one that is most like what I am used to. Either missing lights or patches helped me decide on the SD7's at Taylor. But that is just my old school, old dog can't learn new tricks, mentality. Hopefully I might have something to enter for a future contest...

Thanks all for your votes on one of my favorite images of Taylor Yard in better times. And yes, that's my old yellow railfanning vehicle in the lower right corner of the image.

I've always enjoyed the memories that the Southern Pacific has brought to the table for us. One of the things that help bring memories to me are the employee time tables that I have.
