Westbound SP SD40T-2 #8306 leads its train up Cajon Pass on the PCC at Dike in 1984.

I've been there many times. It's kind of funny that SP called it Dike and the track to the left, Santa Fe called it Devore.

Maybe someone knows the origin of the Dike name at this location. I for one don't.

Actually Southern Pacific's ID for Summit was Hiland, not to be confused with Santa Fe's Highland. Confusing!
