Palmdale was home to an SP MOW station, and the Palmdale Jct.. Also my favorite hobby was located there, Big Boys Toys, later becoming Palmdale Hobbies. I spent alot of time at the "junction", and around the station. Heres some pics from my journeys. Pumpkin crew truck and old PMT trailer. Safety sign on the depot Herald on the back door of the station. Flare45 7426 holds down the Palmdale work train. 7350 and an other SD40 pull the Swift Roadrailer off the junction.

Very cool Thom...shame on me, for not taking more pics in/around the area...I basically lived there from 80-82, then from 89 to 97. I mostly took images either at Mojave or Tehachapi.

Mike, I think a lot of the members here would enjoy seeing your photos. I know I would.

Thom, I do enjoy seeing the 7350 pulling the swift roadrailer train. I was able to see a roadrailer train at Sylmar heading towards Bakersfield. I like these kinds of trains.

I agree John. As a former employee, I enjoy seeing these things from a part of my past.

My apologies for brining up such an old thread, but I just found this great forum! I wanted to say as a note, that the sign in the 3rd picture is actually still there. It is actually in quite good shape still.

It's good to know that there are still things around from Southern Pacific's past.
