Anything else?

From my 1949 Moody's Steam Railroads, " Mileage of the Texas & New Orleans R. R. Co. represents the eastern half of the Southern Pacific system, extending east from El Paso, Tex. to New Orleans, La. with a large net work of branch lines in east and southern Texas and southern Louisiana, serving San Antonio, Brownsville, Austin, Fort Worth, Dallas, Galveston, Houston, and numerous other points in Texas and Shreveport, La. "
The T&NO reported 4416 miles operated in 1939 and was still operating 4316 miles in 1948. Motive power reported to the ICC on December 31, 1948 was 406 steam locomotives and 35 diesel locomotives.
From the 1968 Moody's Transportaion Manual the Southern Pacific filed an application with the ICC on September1, 1960 to merge the properties and franchises of the T&NO. This merger was approved by the stockholders on May 17, 1961 and was consumated on November 1, 1961.
