Westbound Southern Pacific SD45 #8862 leads its train through Devore at Dike on the Palmdale Colton Cutoff in 1982.

Nice! Its wonderful to see a SD45 before the vandels ripped off the nose lights, changed the numbers or added that slanty type lettering. ;D

Seeing both roads in this photo reminds me that the Southern Pacific called this location Dike and the Santa Fe called it Devore. Go figure!!

Nice! Its wonderful to see a SD45 before the vandels ripped off the nose lights, changed the numbers or added that slanty type lettering. ;D Thanks espeelover. This was actually one of my first photographs of the SP in Cajon Pass. Thankfully a memorable one of SP at its dramatic best!
