Cotton Belt Climbs the Cutoff Westbound Cotton Belt/SSW SD45 #9065 leads this manifest freight near the west end of Canyon Siding on the Palmdale Colton Cutoff in Cajon Pass in 1985.

Late post (very late one ... ). Very nice Images! BTW HuskerHerb, I noticed you are from Orange County. Are you familiar with SP's Santa Ana & Stanton Branches, along with the Anaheim Yard? (more like, what used to be the Anaheim Yard... but that's another story/post) My Avatar Image was taken from a Bay Window Caboose at North Anaheim (on South Side of Interstate 5). Notice the SW1500 behind the Caboose? It "died" out on the Westminster Branch, and was being towed dead-in-train back to Anaheim, by this Local Switcher. -- Scott
