This is the only live Widow I ever saw. Train #318 was departing Commerce Yard on April 14, 1973 and this unit was in consist. See Cotton Belt Spots for a photo of the train just before it departed.

I was going through the Terry Kirkland photos this afternoon and spotted this photo. The SP 3741 GP9E spent quite a bit of time on the Greenville Dodger in the Summer of 1974. The sun angle and consist suggest this photo is from Thursday August 15th of that year. This is the southbound Dodger going over the Texas Highway 24 & 50 underpass about a mile west southwest of the Commerce Depot. Can you dig the Mustang? Ed

A GP9E and a mustang. What a couple of classics in the same shot.

That is definately classic photo. You couldn't have done better if you had posed the picture that way.

Cotton Belt train #17s power is backed into the Commerce, TEXAS engine service track. These units will depart Commerce late in the day for Ft. Worth. In the distance behind the GP35 is the old Espee/T&NO/Texas Midland station built in 1911. It is still standing today.

I'll chip in a couple photos. GP9E 3429 leads a GP38-2 on the Van Nuys Local at Tarzana in the 1990's. The crew is preparing to switch Terry Lumber. Attachments:
