Fantastic work Jerry!!!! I've seen the beet train operate on the coast from El Centro, California up to Guadelupe on the coastline. For sure it has been one of my favorite trains!!!!

I always have had a speical place in my heart for a unit beet train. This brings back fond memeries of a great, IMHO, unit train. My only other favorite unit train were the oil cans. The Southern Pacific did know how to run the unit trains very well.

Some of the stats for the oil cans are: 78 cars in length, 10,608 tons per train; 1,848,600 gallons of oil per train and operated out of Saco, north of Bakersfield to the refinery in Carson, California in the Los Angeles area.
Awesome numbers for sure.
