As I've said before Thom, nice site. Just wondering, was TB not enough? Always loved the SP, here in Texas it's pretty much all UP 'cept a couple BNSF lines, KCS, FWWR, and some shortlines.

The Western Pacific Discussion Board uses an open account at photobucket.com to host member photos. The moderators created an account and then posted the URL, Login name and password for everyone to use. Something you guys might want to check into as an option

The big thing that I like about this site Thom is that it's all about my favorite railroad, the Southern Pacific. Like I've said before to others, and I'll say it here is a big and/or special thank you for having this site.

Hello THOM. I dont know much about SP but maybe this will educate me more on SP Hi Alex; I was going thru some of my Southern Pacific related stuff and came across a book I bought many years ago. It's SOUTHERN PACIFIC COUNTRY by Donald Sims. It cames with maps, one overall and one for each division. There are a lot of black and white photos and other info as well. It's copyrighted in 1987. It maybe in a library near you so you won't have to buy it if you choose not to.

I don't even know why I'm here. I'm something of an SP fan - but not specifically. I follow a lot of railroads, and haven't joined any other road-specific forums.
I know my name seems a little out of place. The Erie isn't my favorite railroad, not by a long shot. It's several steps below SP. Still, when I wanted a name for another forum, I chose it because it sounded good, and reflected my affection for weird locomotives. Then I decided to use it everywhere for simplicity.
I may not be around here too often. But if there's anything I need to know about the Golden Empire, I'll come here first.

Hey guys, my name is Josh. I am a conductor out of West Colton and member of the FF&FS. Some of you might know me from other forums- I post a lot at socalrailfan.com and westcoastrailforums.com and read a bunch of others. Looking forward to learning more about the SP- why my older co-workers loved it so much, and the heritage of some of the areas I work in.

Thanks. I don't have much info to contribute to this forum , except maybe the info from a 1978 SP LA Division timetable I found (guys let me know if you want to find out anything that might be contained in there) but I will be reading and asking questions to find out more about the "Octopus."
