SP GP9 #3763 with GP38 #4811, as the Truckee Local, working the yard in Truckee with the now gone L/P mill in the background. Photo August 1988 I submitted this same photo to Railpictures.net. They rejected it due to poor lighting.

They rejected it due to poor lighting. Yeah, that place is full of "higher critics" and they are pretty fussy about shadows; I have had a lot of stuff removed over there myself. I think they care more about perfect exposures than about the railroad content, unless the image is of a very rare topic; background content does not count with them at all. You also have an employee on the train showing, another big no-no with said group. They just want roster shots for modeleing purposes; or so I believe. I like it...if that helps.

Thanks guys, as a follow up to that photo---I did one of their "appeals" about that photo. First the sun was too high, a second submission and now it was too dark. I requested that they make up their mind and pointed out that shot like that were done when you could get them. The SP was not friendly enough to only run trains in perfect light.
The third time, they finally posted it.
