Unplated windows in 1980, pretty rare at that point I think. I don't remember seeing any others that way. Taken in Old Colton Yard.

Could not make up my mind whether to post this one under the caboose or the switcher section; this location won the coin toss.

I love the photo of the SP1741 caboose. The lighting is great.

Yeah, the lighting was good. I got lucky; the sun was getting low but still filtering through the trees, which sort of acted as a impromptu diffuser. It was a tough exposure, I even debated taking the pic IIRC. Again, it was really just good luck, the good Lord had as much to do with this one as anybody (oh, and Photoshop too!).

It's hard to beat the SP 1776 several years after it was painted red, white and blue. ...oh yeah, I forgot there was gold paint too!

John ... this is awesome! Absolutely nice collection of crummies! Why thank you Sir Enzo! What a nice thing to say; I thought these were too new for you! LOL!I told a fib on the eSPee Yahoo Forum a while back, that my first word was caboose; according to moms notes, it was: mama, bisgetti, dada and then kaboo, which was my way to say caboose I guess (bisgetti was how I said spaghetti until I was a few years old). Funny how some things just come naturally to some of us. I have always been attracted to the Railroad Caboose, SP and ATSF mostly, but they are all good now, even the ugly angled cupola ones from the GN and its friends... I did not learn about the Cotton Belt until the mid 1970's, and then I was really amazed about that for some reason.

One night in the Borg's East L.A. Yard, and the car is up on blocks...
