If I'm gonna keep posting stuff, I better get organized now. SSW needs a freight car section, after all, they had to haul freight too, so here goes nothing! SSW 77982 in May of 1980.

If you ever find yourself in Stuttgart, Arkansas you may find a number of the old Cotton Belt ACFs at the Riceland Complex.

Found this faded gem on an NS parts train at Keno, KY on 4-8-2001. This one is also on the Railgoat's page IIRC.

Upon a closer look I see something I was unaware of before. Even though this pic has been in my slide box for nearly 30 years now, I never noticed that the data and all small print was yellow, while the reporting marks seem to have always been white. The changes in CAPY and LD LMT done in Pine Bluff demonstrate this.
Photo taken at Colton Tower in September of 1980.

This is an SP car and an SP concept, but Cotton Belt had some too and here are two examples, over one hundred numbers apart to prove it. Note the three differing colors of the containers also. Yaken in September of 1980.

The Cotton Belt and Espee Auto Parts Box Cars used to be part of the pool that brought parts to the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant near Louisville. It has been over five years since I have seen a car like this.

I did not have a secret deal with CSX to spot these long cars so that they could be photographed, just the luck of the draw.

Rolling across the diamond on the wye at O'Bannon, KY is SSW 65097. It's too close to get the whole car in the frame so here are the reporting marks.

I can think of several late steam or early diesel era boxcar paint jobs that are my favorites: Courteous Service, Phoebe Snow, Rebel Route, Mainline of Mid-America, and so on; but this one is my favorite of them all.Industry Yard in June of 1978.
