Thanks so much Gary. You're right about seeing not one but two 4-8-4s in Cajon Pass in 1989! The outcome of catching both locomotives was certainly hoped for and thankfully it worked out.

Also Herb; if and when you have a chance to get more stills made from the 1989 chase, please post them. It would, I hope, bring back good memories for you, with the rest of us having the good fortume to see some great shots!

Hi Herb, that is truly a fantastic photo and I'm glad to see that the 4449 was leading the 8444. The 4449 is my favorite American steam loco, followed by the AC cabforwards. Thanks for sharing the photo with us and look forward to seeing some more of the same.

Thanks guys very much for your comments! I chose to shoot both slides and video once the chase up the Pass began. But it became too difficult to do both, so I decided to shoot video only from this point on, so unfortunately there are no more still images to share except from my video.
